Johannes Ziebarth
President & CEO
With more than 35 years' experience with electrical infrastructure projects, more than 15 years of which were as a senior executive, Johannes Ziebarth is intimately familiar with the processes that must be in place to ensure the success of new businesses, established organizations, and major construction programs. Johannes has served on the executive team of several successful businesses, and on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity, the Board of Directors of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), the Board of Directors of the Electrical Trade Bargaining Agency, and the Board of Directors of Pillar 5 Pharmaceuticals. He has participated in a number of startup companies as an angel investor, as part of a consortium of investors, and in advisory and board positions.

Spencer Warren, MBA, PMP
Vice President, Corporate Development
Spencer Warren has over 25 years’ experience managing large complex projects globally, specializing in operational excellence in a leadership role. His professional experience and network extend to sectors including the energy, non-profit, academia, international development, social innovation, and project management. Spencer serves on several Boards helping to support new innovative and technological advancements for his community, including the Board of Directors for the Ottawa Catholic School Board as an elected Trustee.
He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Jeff Hawthorne
Vice President, Operations
Jeff joined ZEC in 2012 as a Project Manager with over 20 years' experience in the electrical trade as an apprentice, journeyman, and foreman. Since joining ZEC, Jeff has completed many projects which include the Ottawa U Henderson Student Residence, Global Center for Pluralism, Tamarack Phase 1 Condos, Westgate Condos, Kinaxis, and the Carpenters Union Training Facility.

John Hughes, P.ENG
Director, Engineering and Estimating
John Hughes is an Electrical Professional Engineer with fifteen years of Project Management and Professional Management experience. The primary field of experience includes power engineering, utility construction, project management as well as technical professional services in the power and industrial energy sector. John joined ZEC in 2023 as Director of Engineering and Estimating. John has worked on a variety of major projects in a highly regulated and technical industry with large interdisciplinary teams, with numerous external stakeholders. He also has three years electrical construction supervision experience and spend four years on the Joint Health & Safety Committee management chair.

Richard Gratton
Senior Project Manager
Richard has over 40 years' experience in the electrical construction industry holding his Master Electrician License (ME) and has worked in commercial, industrial, high tech, and high security sectors. Outside of the office Richard enjoys all manner of outdoor activities including fishing and spends time volunteering to help the elderly any way he can and also enjoying time with his five grand kids.

Mike Cutler
Project Manager
Mike has been with Ziebarth Electrical Contractors since 2012 as a Project Manager. He brings 28 years of construction experience in lean construction, project management, site management, operations and contract analysis. He has worked on multiple projects such as the condo/office buildings at Lansdowne Park, Museum of Science & Technology, 160 Elgin Street Lobby Renovation, Carp Retirement, Bank & Flora apartments, Westgate PH 1, and 93 Norman apartments. Mike also works to support our warranty service and small labour-intensive projects serving “after project service” requests from existing customers.

David Gratton
Project Manager
David joined Ziebarth in November 2009 and has worked on a wide variety of major projects and renovations. He has experience as site electrician, supervisor, foreman and estimator with duties ranging from organizing workers, supervising construction activities, ensuring construction is carried out accurately, following plans and specifications, communicating project progress to key stake holders such as the general contractor, the clients, architects and engineers.

Mark Bond
Project Manager
Mark started his electrical career with Ziebarth Electrical Contractors Ltd. in 2016 and has progressed from an apprentice to his current role as a Project Manager. Mark has worked on a wide variety of major projects and has 13 years of experience as a Joint Health & Safety Committee Certified Member.

David Lafond
Senior Project Coordinator
David has been employed with Ziebarth Electrical Contractors since September 1999 as Project Coordinator. His 20 years' experience in the construction industry enables him to bring his sales and marketing experience to the table. He leads our purchasing and coordinating team to deliver projects that meet the highest standards.

Simon Lavictoire
Estimator
Simon started his electrical career as an Electrician in 2013 with Ziebarth Electrical Contractors and has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the ZEC team. He has worked on a wide variety of electrical construction projects from small renovations to major constructions. His role as estimator is an important one helping to secure future projects, while assisting the project managers with the project handoff.

Trista Wakeling
Controller
Trista has worked at Ziebarth Electrical Contractors since 2018. She has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years, along with bringing several years of experience in the accounting field, she also manages the Human Resources and IT departments at ZEC. Trista enjoys spending time with her family, participating in local charity events and keeping active.
